Interior & Cabin Layout

Starting forward, is a very large and luxurious head and shower - furthest forward is the good-sized separate shower with a tub and seat for showering. Aft and to port of the shower and tub unit is a full-height, teak, double-doored storage cabinet followed aft by a separate compartment enclosing the head and vanity unit. Aft of the shower and tub on the starboard side is a cabin with a queen-size berth and drawer storage unit beside it and inboard and it is closed off by a sliding door. The whole forward section is closed for privacy from the main salon with another door.

Next aft in the main salon is the dining area on the starboard side with two straight seats facing fore and aft on either side of a teak table that can also be dropped down to make another double berth. The seat cushions are contoured for comfort and upholstered with royal blue fabric. There are two, double-doored storage cabinets above the table and outboard which contain the TV, VCR and CD stereo.

Opposite the dining area and to port is a long settee facing inboard, also upholstered in royal blue fabric. This settee pulls out into a full twin berth. There are storage cabinets both above and outboard as well as below the settee.

Aft of the dining area on the starboard side and at the bottom of the companionway is the navigation station with more than ample navigation and communication electronics, custom built chart table with plentiful chart storage inboard of it. Aft of the chart table is a storage area with a large, easily accessible sail locker outboard and engine and genset access inboard. Right at the foot of the companionway is the custom built electrical panel and parts storage in drawers and cabinets.

Opposite and on the port side is the long, L-shaped galley which starts just forward of the companionway and extends along both sides of the walkthrough to the master stateroom aft. The twin stainless steel sinks are most forward and inboard facing the main salon with a  counter surface aft and outboard. This is followed by the Force 10 propane stove with the microwave oven built in outboard and just aft of it. Then there is a very long work surface aft of the stove. There is a generous amount of storage both below and above these work surfaces. On the inboard side of the galley is the long and immense triple, top-opening refrigerator and freezer. This is truly an amazing galley.

Moab’s electrical systen has both a Westerbeke 7.5 KW generator and A Heart / Smart 3000 W inverter / charger which satisfies every possible power requirement.  Dual 30 Amp shore hook up is also available.

The master stateroom is most aft and is very commodious. It can be entered either by the galley walkthrough or by its own companionway from the cockpit. The L-shaped berth has a queen-size Pullman berth on the starboard side with a slightly narrower section running completely across the aft, for reading or lounging.

Forward of the berth on the starboard side is the ensuite head which has a separate shower stall as well as a vanity. Heads are both electric VacuFlush models.  Water usage aboard Moab is a non-issue with its 400 G.P.D. water-making and purification system.

There is plentiful storage forward of the aft berth on the port side with a large hanging locker and a dresser section with drawer storage. An abundance of usable space is found in the aft stateroom.

The whole of the interior is bright with plentiful natural light and well ventilated by no less than 18 opening ports and 8 overhead opening hatches. For those occasional hot evenings, Moab is additionally served by three separate Marine Air A/C units. The entire cabin paneling is of white formica with extensive varnished teak trim throughout and, it has a teak and holly cabin sole.
